Save Nancy’s Home Cooking!

April 20, 2009

Nancy’s Home Cooking
is a small restaurant with a 40-year history in our neighborhood. I’ve been twice for breakfast, but haven’t reviewed it yet. Owner Cindy King recently announced that she will close the restaurant on June 1st due to mounting health and financial problems. Nancy’s is a staple of Clintonville, one of those rare hole-in-the-wall neighborhood eateries where you can comfortably sit and chat with complete strangers while you enjoy a home-cooked meal.

An ever-increasing group of people is mobilizing to try and save Nancy’s, or at least ease Cindy’s financial burden in the final months of the restaurant’s life. If you’re interested in getting involved, check out this Facebook page for helpful information. This Sunday, April 26, is Over-Pay Day – feel free to visit and over-pay for your meal!
