You gotta fuel up when you’re trekking around Ocracoke Island, right? Good thing there are multiple coffee shops. The newest to join the ranks is Magic Bean Coffee Bazaar, located right across School Road (which, yes, leads to the school) from one of our favorite stops, Books To Be Red.

Magic Bean serves everything you’d want in a coffee shop: espresso drinks, smoothies, snacks. Of course, there’s an emphasis on iced drinks.

One of my summer guilty pleasures is an iced dirty chai (I’ve heard it called a “red eye chai” as well), which is chai with a shot of espresso. Magic Bean’s version was pretty sweet but, on a day of wandering the island in the summer heat, it still hit the spot.

The coffee shop includes several rooms for sitting, studying, or reading. I loved the hallways covered with chalk marker messages.

There are some good-sized rooms, too, if you need a place to gather as a group.

If you’re spending a day on the island… get some coffee at Magic Bean. It’ll keep you fueled up for more exploring.
