Hi! I’m Christi Richter, I’m Nick’s intern here at Breakfast With Nick. A little bit about me: I’m a junior at OSU doing a double major in journalism and strategic communications, and I’m originally from Cincinnati, Ohio. Here are a few of my favorite breakfast places for this week’s “Three To Try.”
1.) Michael’s Goody Boy Diner – Michael’s Goody Boy Diner is located in the Short North, and really embraces the classic casual diner feel and atmosphere. My personal favorite part about Michael’s is that it offers breakfast all day, so if you’re ever craving breakfast for dinner this is the place for you. The breakfast bowl is an amazing source of comfort food; it’s a mix of eggs, breakfast meat, cheese, and a specialty sauce to tie it all together. The breakfast burrito was also incredibly tasty, and the chocolate chip pancakes were delicious. The food is hearty and very reasonably priced, and also a fun excuse to dip down to the Short North for a meal.
2.) Hangover Easy – Situated right near OSU’s campus, Hangover Easy has generous portions and a good variety of breakfast foods. My personal recommendation (and general favorite breakfast dish) would be the Frog Eyes, aka the biscuits and gravy topped with eggs. I would also recommend trying one of their many amazing omelets. If you’re going to go to Hangover Easy, make sure you get there pretty early because it fills up fast with hungry college kids, especially on weekends. But I promise it’s worth the wait.
3.) Ethyl and Tank – Ethyl and Tank is the answer to all Ohio State students’ breakfast prayers. It’s located right on High Street, across from the Ohio Union, and doubles as a restaurant in the day and a bar at night. Its relaxing environment makes it a wonderful place for a Saturday or Sunday morning brunch. Again, I recommend their biscuits and gravy, but their smothered breakfast burrito and chicken and waffles, among other dishes, are “must tries.”
