In case you hadn’t heard, The Angry Baker opened a second location last week in Victorian Village, in the former Izzy & Mo’s space. Right now they’re just a retail bakery, but they’ll have the cafe side open soon. Their opening got me thinking of their original haunt in Olde Towne East.
1. The Angry Baker – It’s the quintessential neighborhood bakery, the small corner cafe in the burgeoning neighborhood. Stop in for beautiful baked goods and stay for coffee, breakfast burritos, French toast sandwiches, biscuits and mushroom gravy, and so much more.
2. The Olde Towne Tavern – The Tavern offers a really cozy and likable weekend brunch, and they’ve got a huge patio. There’s a great beer selection, plenty of cocktails, and menu featuring chicken & waffles, omelets, breakfast bowls, steak & eggs, pancakes, and more.
3. Upper Cup Coffee – Upper Cup is a solid little coffee shop and roaster over on Parsons Avenue. You can hang out and study, buy a bag of whole beans, and enjoy a pour over. They also serve one of the only hand-pulled espresso machines in town.
