At long last! Cravings has landed again. We’ve been missing Matt and Lindsey and their team since they were booted from their original Italian Village location. It’s been a two-year adventure for them, but at the end of September they completed renovations on their new space downtown and have begun serving breakfast and lunch.

The new space sits on North Front Street between Long and Gay Streets downtown. It features big windows looking on the street. Like the old spot you order at the counter, then find a seat in the dining room.

The place isn’t huge, but they have much more seating than before! I’ve even been to a special pop-up dinner where they re-arranged the tables and filled the dining room.

Their re-opening marks the return of all their baked goods, from cookies to scones to the bronuts (brioche donuts!). It’s best to keep an eye on social media to see what they’re offering each day.

We’ve made a handful of visits to the cafe. They’ve revamped the menu already, and run through daily specials like sandwiches, wraps, and even pierogis. They also serve Thunderkiss Coffee in hot and iced forms (you can also buy bags of it to take home)!

We’ve caught specials like a Philly cheesesteak…

…and a chicken club.

They feature a regular breakfast burrito on the menu. Occasionally a corned beef version pops up, too.

Their recent menu revamp added the Downtown Smashburger.

It’s a pretty hefty 1/4-pound burger made from Butcher & Grocer beef on a house brioche bun with American cheese, sliced onions, pickles, and a special sauce.

The cafe nods to the old space, which apparently originally served as a lunch counter long ago.

On one of the back walls are little log slices listing the names of Kickstarter backers. We’re so excited to have them back, and proud to have put our support behind them! Congrats, Matt and Lindsey!
