Jimmy Barouxis, owner of Buckeye Donuts

January 8, 2020

Jimmy Barouxis is the third generation owner of Buckeye Donuts. His father and grandfather opened the shop in 1969, and they’ve been cranking out donuts from the same location, using the same methods (all by hand) since that time. The donut shop, which started serving breakfast in 2006, is a campus staple, and every year generations of Ohio State students return to one of the last remaining haunts from their days in college. In addition to their handmade old fashioneds and longjohns and apple fritters and cinnamon rolls, Buckeye Donuts is known for being open 24/7, 365 days a year. Every day. Every holiday. It usually takes an act of God (or a major renovation) to shut them down.
