I love the Columbus coffee scene and how it continues to grow, and how each roastery and coffee shop has carved out its own niche.
Jennings Java is a small roastery and storefront set up in a warehouse on South Front Street, just south of Greenlawn Avenue. From their little headquarters they serve coffee beans, nitro cold brew, canned coffee drinks, and more.
Jennings was started by Daniel Jennings and A.J. Kazmierczak, two Muskingum University grads who have a passion for sourcing and roasting high quality coffees.
You can find the shop by looking for the white sandwich board sign on Front Street. Just pull behind the building to park. They roll up the door when they’re open, currently Wednesdays-Sundays, and set out a table to handle transactions.
They feature a wide variety of roasts, some single origin and some blends. I picked up a Honduran roast that I really loved. Just a touch sweet, with blueberry notes.
If you make your own cold brew, they’ll also put together little cold brew pouches for you. They grind the beans, seal them in a mesh bag, then seal that in another bag. You just follow the directions and steep the mesh bag in cold water at home, and you’re good to go.
They serve a wickedly smooth nitro cold brew as well. Highly recommended, especially if you’re starting a busy day at work.
If you want your coffee to-go, they can select drinks like cold brew lattes, chai tea lattes, and other offerings. They’re available by the can or as four-packs.

If you live within the 270 loop Jennings offers free delivery, and if you’re within 3-5 miles of the roastery, they’ll offer free delivery BY BIKE!

The couple times I’ve stopped by, the welcome has been warm and friendly. These guys are into coffee and great at what they do. I’m looking forward to tasting more of their roasts and drinks.
