This month, Experience Columbus launched a new culinary trail focused on Columbus style pizza! It follows on the heels of successful trails like the Ale Trail, Coffee Trail, Live Music Trail, Distillery Trail.

Each trail is designed to help you explore local hotspots and earn rewards for doing so.

Like many of the other trails, the Columbus Style Pizza Trail is a free, mobile-exclusive passport that you download on your phone. Then you order dine-in or carryout from the participating restaurants, check-in on the passport, and earn rewards like T-shirts, pizza cutters, hot pads.

I mean, who doesn’t love pizza? And Columbus pizza is a style all of its own. It’s known for:
- Thin crust
- Square cut (also called tavern or party cut)
- Edge-to-edge toppings

The Columbus Style Pizza Trail has 13 different pizzerias representing 19 locations across the city.

This includes several old school shops that have been at it for decades, like TAT Ristorante di Famiglia on the east side.

I recently attended a little kick-off event for local media and a handful of the pizzerias, hosted by the folks at TAT.
