5 Restaurants to Try This Month: June 2023

June 1, 2023

Want to support local restaurants? Curious about new openings or under-the-radar finds? Here are five restaurants I’m suggesting you try this month!

1. Los Guachos Taqueria

We’ve been reminding ourselves lately how much we love Los Guachos. They’re rightfully known for their tacos al pastor, which are 2-for-1 every Monday, as well as their al pastor gringas, which are $2 every Wednesday. It’s always a delight to watch them expertly shave the marinated pork off the giant trompo. And while we love the al pastor, there are a lot of winners on Los Guachos’ menu.

Los Guachos Taqueria
5220 Godown Rd., Northwest

7370 Sawmill Rd., Dublin
1344 Cherry Bottom Rd., Gahanna

2. Main Moon

We’ve been driving by Main Moon Chinese restaurant for years, ignoring it in the strip that includes Velca Grill, Hungarian Butcher, and Cameron’s Bistro. But convinced by friends to give a whirl, we were immediately sold on it. Go for the dumplings in hot chili oil (pictured here), Chengdu cold noodles, dan dan noodles, Chongqin spicy chicken.

Main Moon
2173 W. Dublin Granville Rd.
Worthington, OH 43085

3. Fox in the Snow

Look, I know most of us don’t need any convincing to visit Fox in the Snow, but it’s TOMATO TART SEASON at the cafe. These gorgeous seasonal treats give you one more reason to visit – as if the coffee and cinnamon rolls and egg sandwiches and blueberry galettes and ham and Swiss croissants weren’t reason enough. Now, who’s counting down the days until their Dublin location opens?

Fox in the Snow
1031 N. Fourth St., Italian Village

210 Thurman Ave., German Village
160 W. Main St., New Albany

4. True Food Kitchen

True Food Kitchen at Easton has always impressed us with their dynamic menus, and their recent seasonal additions are no exception. Visit them for colorful dishes like refreshing sparkling apricot tea and limeade, fresh burrata, farmers market crudites, tuna poke, grass-fed burgers, spinach and mushroom pizzas. They also have a full coffee bar and cocktails.

True Food Kitchen
4052 Worth Ave.
Columbus, OH 43219

5. Nile Vegan

It seems like we’re always craving Ethiopian food, and if you’re a plant-eater, Nile Vegan is here to satisfy those cravings. Our favorite way to experience Ethiopian food is with a group, so you can order a giant platter to share. Ethiopian fare is eaten with your hands, using the spongy injera bread to scoop up bites of different stews with vegetables, lentils, split peas, potatoes, and the like.

Nile Vegan
1223 Goodale Blvd.
Columbus, OH 43212
