Stacked Burger Co. debuts today in the Worthington Woods shopping center!
The eatery comes from brothers Jordan and Dan Lamatrice. Jordan operated Alphabetical Comfort Kitchen, which was previously a food truck and a stall in the Budd Dairy Food Hall. Now they’ve set up shop in the center at Worthington Galena Road and Worthington Woods Boulevard.
The long space is mostly dominated by the kitchen, with a small counter and three tables. I imagine they’ll do a steady carryout business.
The menu is focused mainly on burgers, with a couple chicken sandwiches, a hot dog, sides, floats, and a small kid’s menu.
We snagged an easy-to-love root beer float.
Then we tried a handful of burgers and a couple sides!
We tried the signature Stack Burger. It uses a 1/3-pound patty and tops it with caramelized onions, American cheese, house-made dill pickles, shredded romaine lettuce, ketchup, and a house garlic aioli on a brioche bun.
They’ve opted not to feature smashburgers, which we’re seeing more and more of these days. As much as I love smashburgers, I appreciate getting a full-sized patty layered with plenty of crispy and tangy ingredients.
Here’s the BBQ Bacon Burger. It layers the 1/3-pound patty with the same caramelized onions, American, and pickles, but this time adds bacon, fried onion straws, and a house-made chipotle barbecue sauce. It’s a big, savory bomb.
We also tasted the Beer Gut Fries: fries topped with house-made chili (I remember this from Alphabetical), cheddar, and sour cream.
And there’s the fried Brussels sprouts. You can choose from two different toppings; we chose the citrus honey sriracha with feta.
I hope Stacked does well in this space! We enjoyed our burgers and sides, and I will say that it’s nice to have another good burger option on the north end.
