Comida El Catrin Starts a Residency at Zaftig Brewing – With Brunch!

February 4, 2026

Zaftig Brewing is often the top of the rotation for us when it comes to local breweries. It’s close to home, yes, but I enjoy their roster of beers that ranges from IPAs to strong ales to some killer barrel-aged stouts. Add in some fun events, live music, and a regular lineup of food trucks, and you’re set!

At the end of January, Zaftig kicked off an all-new food truck residency featuring one of its regular visitors, Comida El Catrin. Comida El Catrin feature a creative mix of traditional Mexican street tacos and modern versions, plus burritos, chips, guacamole, queso, and other specials.

We’ve visited a couple times now – the food is a great pairing for Zaftig’s beers and their respectable lineup of bourbons and whiskeys.

It’s pretty easy to love the queso and the guacamole. We’re not sure if they make their own chips or where they get them, but they’re very crispy and nicely seasoned.

One of our favorites has been the trio of street tacos with your choice of meats: chorizo, al pastor, chicken, steak.

Our boys have loved the giant burritos, too.

They balance out generous proteins with black beans, rice, and cheese.

On top of their regular menu, they’re also doing an occasional Saturday brunch – including this coming Saturday, February 7! From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. they’re serving breakfast burritos, bowls, fried egg tacos, breakfast quesadillas, and more.

We gave the breakfast burrito a thumbs up!

And the open-faced fried egg taco is a pretty generous portion.

Comida El Catrin is open at Zaftig Monday-Tuesday, Thursday-Saturday from 4-8 p.m.

Special brunch dates are February 7 and 21, 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.
