Hocking Hills

The Hocking Hills is a popular spot for hiking, overnight stays in cabins, and generally enjoying the beautiful scenery of southeast Ohio. A quick drive from Columbus lands you amidst caves and waterfalls and other outdoor features.

Food & Beer

Kindred Spirits: the in-house dining for The Inn & Spa at Cedar Falls, house in a collection of old cabins. Open for guests at the Inn plus to the public seasonally for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Old Man's Cave General Store: grocery and carryout close to Old Man's Cave. Stop for supplies, pizzas - and maybe a little soft serve ice cream.

Rockmill Brewery: located on an old horse farm in Lancaster, brewing Belgian beers using the water on-site. Beautiful rolling hills perfect for sipping and strolling. The modern taproom offers indoor and outdoor space, with food-fired pizzas and snacks available on site.

Parks, Attractions, & Accommodations

Hocking Hills Moonshine: a distillery in Logan keeping alive long family and regional traditions of making moonshine. You can tour and taste at the distillery.

Hocking Hills State Park: one of the big attractions of the area, the state park includes dozens of trails that take you through caves and ravines and to waterfalls. Popular stops include Old Man's Cave, Cantwell Cliffs, Conkle's Hollow, Ash Cave, Cedar Falls, Rock House. A brand new state park lodge is set to open fall 2022.

Hocking Valley Scenic Railway: historic railway that runs out of Nelsonville. A variety of rides available, from dinner trains to scenic runs to old steam engines.

The Inn & Spa at Cedar Falls: lovely inn with a collection of rooms, cabins, and yurts. Includes the Kindred Spirits restaurant set in a collection of log cabins, plus ample outdoor space, event rooms, and a spa.

John Glenn Astronomy Park: dark sky park near Old Man's Cave with special evening programs for stargazing and other activities

Stuart's Opera House: old performing arts venue in Nelsonville, host to local, regional, and national acts. Also produces an annual music festival.
