Three To Try: Funky Donuts

November 11, 2016

donut

I think we could all use a donut this week. The blog post I wrote earlier this week had me thinking about funky donut flavors. That’d also be a good band name: Funky Donuts.

1. Belle’s Bread red bean donut – Belle’s is a Japanese bakery, and one of their many gorgeous items is a glazed yeast donut filled with a sweet adzuki bean paste. It’s thick, rich, and lightly sweet.

2. Buckeye Donuts’ maple bacon longjohn – Throwing bacon on things is old news, but that doesn’t change the fact that Buckeye Donuts’ maple longjohn with crispy bacon is a real treat.

3. Amy’s Donuts – Have you been to Amy’s on the west side? It’s hard to pick any one funky donut from them, because their display cases are full of colorful donuts topped with candy bars, cotton candy, crushed up cookies, fruits, glazes, and more.
