5 Restaurants To Try This Month: March 2024

February 29, 2024

Want to support local restaurants? Curious about new openings or under-the-radar finds? Here are five restaurants I’m suggesting you try this month!

1. Martiny’s BBQ

This family-run barbecue spot inhabits a small structure along Route 23 in Lewis Center (former home to The Porch). They feature all the good stuff: brisket, chicken, ribs, cauliflower, pulled pork, plus luscious sides like mac and cheese, German potato salad, baked beans – not to mention their house-made sauces!

2. Blackbird Kitchen

You can find Blackbird Kitchen inside Woodland’s Tavern in Grandview. They’re elevating the bar food game with towering nachos, big burgers, birria tacos, wings, potato wedges, and these spicy mac and cheese balls called Atomic Fireballs. They offer a variety of deals throughout the week, like Monday-Thursday they take $2 off all appetizers from 4-5 p.m.

3. Jenny’s Diner

We’ve always got to celebrate a new diner! Jenny’s Diner opened up last month in Clintonville, bringing all your favorite for breakfasts and lunches to the neighborhood. Owner Jenny Dial brings her experience from years of working at TeeJaye’s, and she and her busy crew are already delivering hearty meals to lines of customers.

4. Fado Pub & Kitchen

It’s March, so we’ve got to celebrate with some Irish food! Fado Pub & Kitchen in Dublin’s Bridge Park is slightly more modern than its companion Fado Irish Pub at Easton. It offers a menu that ranges a little more internationally. You’ll find seafood risotto, croque monsieurs, Bavarian pretzels – but you can still score fish and chips, and plenty of Irish whiskey and beer. It’s also one of the few places where you can find an Irish breakfast in Columbus!

5. Somewhere in Particular Brewing

Somewhere in Particular sits just off Henderson Road in Northwest Columbus, and serves a unique mix of beers paired with love-able bar snacks like pizzas, sandwiches, wraps, quesadillas, pretzels, chips and salsa. Their modern taproom sits behind a historic home, and is especially nice for their spacious patio.
