Friday Food Bites: Ghostwriter closes for revamp, Pizza Nerds opens in Gahanna

December 20, 2024

There’s always a lot happening in the Columbus restaurant world! Here’s the latest:

  • The owners of Ghostwriter Public House in Johnstown announced that the restaurant will temporarily close from Dec. 21 through Jan. 8 to refresh the space and update the menu. No exact details were announced.
  • The pop culture-centered pizza shop Pizza Nerds has completed its move to 1376 Cherry Bottom Rd. in Gahanna and reopened this week in the former SuperChef’s storefront. The shop features specialty pies, build-your-own pizzas, apps, and cookies.
  • The team behind the Kape Coffee pop-up finishes their run at the Wolf’s Ridge Brewing taproom today – Friday, Dec. 20. The Asian-inspired coffee shop will appear next at Coppa Gelato in Westerville.
  • Next Monday, Dec. 23 Another Broken Egg opens a second central Ohio location at 8823 Owenfield Dr. in Powell. The chain, which originated in Louisiana, features a full bar with brunch cocktails, coffee, and a mix of Southern-style dishes. The first central Ohio location opened at Easton in 2022.
  • In the latest entry of cars hitting buildings in Columbus, this week a car ran into Bakersfield in the Short North. No one was hurt, thankfully, and the business shared on social media that it is open as usual. Bakersfield is located at 733 N. High St.
