Three Local Krogers Open Mix Food Halls

November 10, 2022

Kroger is getting into the food hall business!

In the coming weeks, three local Kroger locations – Gahanna, Clintonville, and Dublin – will open Mix Food Halls, an in-house food stand that features 6-7 different food concepts served through one window.

Guests can mix and match meals from concepts like Fuku Fried Chicken, Nathan’s Famous hot dogs, Saladworks, Hardee’s, Pei Wei Asian Kitchen, and others.

They can order meals online at mixfoodhall.com or from an in-store kiosk. Electronic displays show when orders are in-progress or ready to be picked up. Guests can also sign up for text alerts.

The kitchen team prepares everything and packages it nicely together.

The whole ordering system is operating by Kitchen United, a Pasadena-based ghost kitchen company.

We were invited to test out an order at a media preview, sampling everything from chili cheese dogs to Nathan’s to bao buns and potstickers from Wow Bao, kung pow chicken from Genghis Grill, fried chicken sandwiches and waffle fries from Fuku Fried Chicken. It was all expertly packaged and traveled fairly well.

The Gahanna location (300 Hamilton Rd.) is already open and celebrates its grand opening on Wednesday, Nov. 16 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., while the Clintonville (3417 N. High St.) and Dublin (7625 Sawmill Rd.) food halls will come online in the following weeks.

As part of the Gahanna grand opening festivities, Kitchen United and Kroger will be giving away more than $35,000 in prizes.
