
Happy Friday! Here’s the latest Columbus restaurant news:
- Love Riley Cakes is getting ready to open her second location on Saturday, July 18. The new shop is located at 1089 W. First Ave. in Grandview, in the former Butcher & Grocer space.
- The Filipino coffee shop Koffee Paradise has fully opened its second shop, at 2285 W. Dublin Granville Rd. in Linworth.
- Speaking of Linworth, the Linworth Grill in the same plaza has closed. According to their website, the closure is just temporary as they look for a new space.
- A new Indonesian restaurant called Waroeng Buckeye Hibachi has opened at 3512 W. Dublin Granville Rd.
- Chef Kevin Wang has started a new omakase pop-up called Shin Omakase. It pops up every Tuesday and Wednesday at Isla in Merion Village.
- After 12 years, Yats Cajun and Creole restaurant announced that they will close their storefront on Aug. 20, but they’ll continue operations with their food truck.
- A new bagel shop called Bagels & Jam Co. has opened at 4465 Cemetery Rd. in Hilliard.
- And speaking of bagels, a location of the Bagels & Co. chain has opened at 220 W. Lane Ave. at The Rambler apartment building near campus.
- A new Asian street food eatery called Hey Broth has opened at 1810 W. Henderson Rd.
- Micheli’s Osteria & Wine Bar is coming to Gahanna’s Creekside development this fall.
- OX-B’s fried chicken announced they’re adding another local shop at 7370 Sawmill Rd.
- (614) Magazine‘s Restaurant Week is coming up, July 20-25, where dozens of local restaurants offer special three-course menus.
Also, a special note! I’m on the board of Service Relief, which proudly supports and advocates for the service industry through training, opportunities, and more resources. We’re getting close to opening The Line, a new restaurant downtown that will offer full-service meals AND great training for industry folks. We’re raising funds to get it over the finish line, and from now through July 20, if you make a donation of $145 or higher, you’ll be entered into a raffle to win two seats at the chef’s counter.
