
Here’s your weekly roundup of Columbus restaurant news, including new openings, closings, and menu updates!
- The Line, a new restaurant and training center from Service Relief, opened this week at 145 N. Grant Ave. downtown. In addition to being a full-service restaurant, The Line will offer training, resources, and more opportunities for service industry workers. Read more about it here!
- True Food Kitchen at Easton closed abruptly this week as its parent company filed for bankruptcy. The restaurant had focused on a natural foods and minimally processed ingredients. It first opened at Easton in October of 2020.
- Old Bag of Nails announced that their long-time Delaware location will close on Sunday, Oct. 11 after they couldn’t reach a new lease agreement with their landlord. It had sat at 66 N. Sandusky St. for more than 22 years.
- Zaki Grill, a Mediterranean spot with a food truck and a stall at Budd Dairy Food Hall, has opened a new location at 2245 W. Dublin Granville Rd. in Linworth. It took over the former Linworth Grill storefront, which lasted less than a year.
- A new revolving sushi spot called Koi Revolving Sushi is coming soon to 88 Dilmont Dr. on the north side of Columbus.
- Ochoa Mexican Grill, a new concept that replaced Pecan Penny’s BBQ, is now open at 113 E. Main St. downtown.
- Also downtown, the Asian-inspired restaurant Sage has replaced Rishi Sushi at 114 N. Third St. Read more about Sage in my Columbus Monthly column this week!
- A new Japanese-inspired cafe called Sora Cafe soft opened last week at 1462 Bethel Rd.
- A new coffee shop called Jowhar Coffee House announced that they are coming to Hilliard’s TruePointe development.
- Blackbird Kitchen is opening a UFO-themed kitchen called Roswell’s inside Woodland’s Backyard, with an opening party held Sunday evening, Oct. 11.
- Little West Tavern at The Junto Hotel downtown hosts its next Campus Cookoff competition on Friday, Oct. 9, pitting burgers inspired by Maryland (who Ohio State football plays tomorrow) versus locally inspired burgers.
- The Columbus Italian Festival returns this weekend, too, Oct. 9-11 in Italian Village!
