We enjoyed a busy weekend in greater Cincinnati, exploring coffee shops, markets, breweries, and more. You can read about our adventures here, here, and here. To cap off our weekend, our hosts at CincinnatiUSA treated us to brunch at The Orchids at Palm Court inside the Hilton Cincinnati Netherland Plaza.
We arrived on a beautiful Sunday morning, after coffee earlier at Collective Espresso in the Contemporary Arts Center.
We found our way inside the hotel and up a beautiful flight of stairs. It wasn’t hard to identify the restaurant; it’s the massive, handsomely appointed room that’s a throwback to several decades ago.
The space is separated into different dining areas, with a large, circular bar to one side and a set of stairs on the far end. A guitar player strummed classical music up on the stairs throughout brunch.
The ballroom is simply massive and very detailed.
The Orchids brunch is a buffet with several stations arranged on one side of the ballroom. You’ll find many of the usual suspects at the brunch, like the omelet bar and carved prime rib.
You’ll see classics like eggs benedicts.
We made a few passes around the buffet, starting with meats and cheeses, some baked goods, and some seafood.
One large tray features shrimp, crab legs, and other seafood.
One interesting dish (seen to the left) is poached eggs in a black bean sauce.
And breakfast standards like eggs, potatoes, bacon, and sausage are covered.
There are plenty of fruits, vegetables, and other sides and meats. I tried a slice of prime rib and some fried chicken (one of my favorite bites of the meal).
And we finished with a selection of desserts.
Our brunch at Orchids was a grand ending to the weekend in Cincinnati. Thanks to CincinnatiUSA for hosting us!
