Three To Try: Outerbelt Donuts

March 24, 2017

In case you missed our adventures on Instagram last weekend, we successfully tackled the Butler County Donut Trail (yes, it’s a thing). We trekked across the county in search of seven (count ’em!) local donut shops, collecting stamps on our passports and noshing on donuts (and, yes, we did manage to eat some protein in there, too). That had me thinking about venturing out for donuts, which landed me on this week’s theme: donut shops on Columbus’ outerbelt.

1. Schneider’s Bakery – Schneider’s is old school. Like, cash only, get a carton of milk to go with your Davy Crockett donut old school. If you’ve never been, make a point to stop by this Uptown Westerville institution. You can even line up with the college students at 1 a.m. for fresh donuts!

2. Duck Donuts – It’s kind of hard to believe I’ve only been to the central Ohio Duck Donuts ONCE – the day they opened. It’s time to feed my craving for a warm maple bacon donut.

3. Lil Donut Factory – Confession: I’ve never been to Lil Donut Factory. Well, I’ve tried stopping by, but it’s always been on their off hours or after they’ve sold out. No matter – I’ll keep trying. I’ve heard nothing but good about the donuts at this little Hilliard shop.
