There’s a lot happening in the Columbus restaurant world – here’s the latest!
- For Tax Free Day today, Sweet Carrot is offering a free entree to the first 50 people through the door of their new Polaris store (2050 Polaris Pkwy.). You just have to mention “Tax Free Day.” If you don’t make it in the first 50, you can still get a coupon for $5 off your next purchase of $20 or more.
- Graeter’s opens their new Hilliard store at 5410 Scioto Darby Rd. today.
- Zaftig Brewing hosts their Too Cans Extravaganza this Saturday, Aug. 4 from noon to midnight. The event features their signature imperial IPA and seven different barrel-aged variations of it.
- Los Guachos opened their new store at 7370 Sawmill Rd. in Dublin last week. This joins their truck on the west side, a location on Godown Road off Bethel, and a location in Gahanna.
- CBC Restaurant closed abruptly last weekend, citing issues with the owner’s health. They had previously announced they would renovate and rebrand to Oxbow on Short this fall.
- Blind Lady Tavern announced they’ll be closing on Friday, Aug. 10.
- A new bourbon bar called Barrel & Taps is coming soon to Grandview.
- Legacy Smokehouse announced they have closed their stall in the Short North Food Hall, in order to concentrate on their new restaurant in the Brewery District and their forthcoming spot in Hilliard.
- Chef Silas Caeton finished up his successful run at Cosecha in Italian Village. He’s served as the opening chef for the restaurant, since it open over a year-and-a-half ago.
- Zen Bee Meadery is now open at 7472 Reliance St. in Worthington.
- AND Uprising Meadworks opens today at 687 N. James Rd. on the east side (next door to Actual Brewing).
