You have to hand it to Stauf’s. In addition to operating their flagship store in Grandview, which continues to be packed with regulars, they’ve been rebranding and expanding over the past few years, opening a stall in the North Market, renovating the German Village Mojoe Lounge/Cup O’ Joe into a Stauf’s, and adding locations inside the Idea Foundry and now in the View on Grant building.
This new location is on the ground floor of the View on Grant, a recently renovated building in the Discovery District with studios and apartments. It’s spacious and filled with natural light.
There’s a second level with even more seating, with plenty of room for studying, relaxing with a book, having a meeting, or just catching up with a friend over coffee.
The menu features all the regulars: hot and iced brewed coffee, espresso drinks, hot and iced tea, hot chocolate, plus a variety of pastries and Sammy’s Bagels.
There’s also a small patio along Grant.
The shop is on the same block as BalletMet’s rehearsals spaces, and around the corner from Platform Beer’s taproom. And given its proximity to Columbus State (like, literally across the street), this location of Stauf’s offers a 10% discount to CSCC students and staff. Also: plenty of metered parking on the streets surrounding the shop.
The next time you need some coffee or a place to meet/work/hang, keep this spot in mind! I’m glad to see Stauf’s growing, and to see more neighborhoods getting coffee shops.
