We’ve heard a lot about farm-to-table dining in recent years, and one of the Columbus restaurants that best lives out this mission is The Table. Opened by Sang Lakhani and Jen Marlatt in November 2013, The Table makes it a mission to source ingredients locally, to do almost everything from scratch – including bread and charcuterie – and to re-purpose as much as possible, from the china to the tables and chairs. Sang shares about her origins as a chef (“It was out of desperation.”), favorite dishes, how the restaurant came about, and how she brings her culinary heritage to the table (get it?). Visit her and Jen’s restaurant, and you’ll find flavors that are “Sourced locally and inspired globally,” not to mention a warm and comforting hospitality.
