There’s a lot happening in the Columbus restaurant world! Here’s the latest:
- The owners of Law Bird cocktail bar in German Village announced that they’re opening a stand-alone carryout called Law Bird Supply Store at 1306 Grandview Ave. in September. During the pandemic, Law Bird shifted from being a cocktail bar to a carryout selling wine, beer, snacks, and bottled cocktails. As the bar has returned to regular service, the owners had an eye toward continuing carryout in a separate store.
- Pattycake Bakery re-opened this week in its new location at 3870 N. High St., former home of Flowers & Bread.
- North Market Bridge Park announced its newest vendor this week, a pizzeria from the Gallo folks simply called Gallo’s Pizzeria. Set to open this fall, the shop will feature pizza, subs, salads, and stromboli.
- Sono Wood Fired opened yesterday at 4055 The Strand W at Easton. It features Italian fare like pizzas, pastas, seafood, and more.
- Columbus City Council approved the Designated Outdoor Refreshment Area, or DORA, for the Arena District. The DORA will run the length of Nationwide Boulevard, connecting businesses around Nationwide Arena, Huntington Park, and Lower.com Field. It allows guests to purchase alcoholic beverages from participating businesses and take them outside within the area; it should first go into effect in September.
- On Monday, Aug. 2, the Coffee Connections location at the Gateway University District will re-open.
