There’s always a lot happening in the Columbus restaurant world! Here’s the latest news:
- Columbus, we have a new brewery! Bridge’s End Brewing made its debut this week at 9320 Dublin Rd. in Shawnee Hills. The brewpub serves a variety of house-made beers, cocktails, and a food menu that includes wings, pizzas, salads, and sandwiches.
- Next month Weiland’s Market and Columbus Monthly launch a new series called Behind the Beers. The series is led by author and beer expert Joshua M. Bernstein. The first edition is Sunday, June 8 and features low-ABV beers. You can register for it here.
- The owners of Sparano’s Pizza on the west side announced on social media last week that the pizzeria is now Cappy’s. The new owners are featuring their own recipes; in the same post, the son of the Sparano’s owner indicated the pizzeria may come back in some form.
- Thurn’s Specialty Meats is reopening for a holiday pop-up sale tomorrow – Saturday, May 24 – starting around 8 a.m. until they sell out. Thurn’s closed last year but remains open for deer processing and the occasional pop-up sale.
- Marcella’s in the Short North is closing temporarily starting today for about eight weeks of renovations.
- Jeni’s Strawberry Jam returns this Saturday and Sunday, May 24-25, at Land-Grant Brewing in Franklinton. The event includes Jeni’s strawberry ice cream, special beers from the brewery, strawberries from local farms, Fox in the Snow treats, live music, and more.
- Columbus Taco Fest also returns Saturday and Sunday to Goodale Park, featuring a number of food vendors, bands, tequila tastings, and more.
