
Happy Friday! Here’s the latest Columbus restaurant news:
- Yesterday Watershed Kitchen & Bar announced that it will close after service on Saturday, Nov. 8. In a post on social media, the owners said that they have “faced economic challenges that have left the restaurant unable to continue.”
- Central Ohio’s newest brewery officially opens today – Friday, October 31 at 3 p.m.! Honest Friend Brewing sits at 2112 S. High St. on the south end in the Steelton Village development. It features lower-ABV beers, cocktails, and seltzers.
- The Columbus Museum of Art at The Pizzuti opened a new pop-up bar and cafe last weekend. Dubbed Bar Room, it’s a fully functional bar created by by Bahamian conceptual artist Tavares Strachan. Bar Room is open Thursday-Sunday serving cocktails, light bites, and Upper Cup coffee. Admission to the museum, which includes the bar, is $5.
- This week multiple sources reported that the original Natalie’s space at 5601 N. High St. in Worthington will be revitalized as Fired Up Pizza, a carryout pizzeria and Italian market that will open sometime early next year.
- Starting this Saturday, Nov. 1, Callin’ Your Bluff coffee is starting a regular rotation at Land-Grant Brewing’s Extension bar. The coffee cart will be set up Friday-Sunday mornings from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
- The 1126 Restaurant has returned to the Short North after a hiatus. The owners said they brought back the sushi restaurant due to popular demand.
- Pho 2024 Vietnamese Kitchen celebrates its opening next week Wednesday, Nov. 5. It’s located on the east side at 6615 E. Broad St.
- Side Piece Pies, a pizza-by-the-slice shop, is now open inside Victory Lap sports bar at 200 W. Lane Ave.
- Kyushu Ramen Bar has opened its third location at 784 Bethel Rd. on the northwest side. This joins stores in Grandview and Lewis Center.
- Pho Le Vietnamese restaurant at 1623 Morse Rd. is under new management and has been renamed Pho Huyen.
- The first Columbus location of Honeygrow, a fast casual chain known for their stir fries and salads, opened this week at 4784 Morse Rd. near Gahanna.
- The first Columbus location of The Port of Peri Peri, a fast casual eatery serving halal grilled chicken and other dishes, is set to open sometime soon at 2540 Bethel Rd. on the northwest side.
Some cool culinary events!
- The Columbus Independents organization is hosting its own Columbus Restaurant Week from Nov. 3-15. About 18 restaurants will be offering prix fixe three-course meals for $39.
- Columbus Brewing Company’s west side taproom is returning temporarily for the holidays starting on Thursday, Nov. 6. Tracksuit Taproom, as it will be called, will be open Thursdays-Sundays and will feature holiday beers, decor, and more.
- North Market Bridge Park hosts its 2025 Taste of the Market next week Friday, Nov. 7.
- Columbus Monthly’s fall cocktail competition is coming on Thursday, Nov. 13 at Vitria on the Square.
- Tickets just went on sale for Columbus Food Adventures’ November supper club, scheduled for Nov. 16 at the Parker House with chef Seigo Nishimura.
