There’s always a lot happening in the Columbus restaurant world! Here’s the latest:
- The unfortunate news this week is that both the La Poblanita and Caribe Sur food trucks were stolen last weekend. While both trucks have been recovered, they’ve been stripped of equipment and are essentially having to start over. If you’d like to support them, there are GoFundMe campaigns for both: La Poblanita and Caribe Sur.
- After nearly 40 years in business, the owners of Japanese Oriental Restaurant near campus shared that they are closing at the end of this year. They cited issues with the property owner and some personal reasons.
- The Pit BBQ Grille will join Budd Dairy Food Hall’s the Hatch rotating kitchen starting on Monday, Dec. 13.
- House Taco (links to PDF menu, FYI) has opened in the basement cafe of the Ohio Statehouse. The concept was formerly a cloud kitchen that took the space formerly occupied by Milo’s Capitol Cafe.
- Local Cantina opened its 13th location this week, this one located at 1690 W. Lane Ave. in Upper Arlington.
- Huli Huli Tiki Lounge in Powell hosts Sippin Santa, a holiday-themed tiki pop-up that’s a companion to Miracle at The Citizens Trust.
- As a reminder, S’wich Social‘s final day of season will be Dec. 19.
- Business First reported that Bridge’s End Brewing Co. is aiming to open in Shawnee Hills early next year.
- Olive & Thyme Cafe in Clintonville has changed its name to Olive & Lime Cafe.
