There’s always a lot happening in the Columbus restaurant world! Here’s the latest:
- This week Alebrijes food truck at 1500 E. Long St. in King-Lincoln Bronzeville started serving breakfast. Get a look at some of the menu offerings here!
- Tomorrow – Saturday, April 22 – is Earth Day! Northstar Cafe is once again giving away free veggie burgers at all locations. They’re available starting at 3 p.m., dine-in only. Likewise, Brassica is giving away free falafel sandwiches starting at 11 a.m., also dine-in only.
- The new beer garden is now fully open at Flint Station. The bar also recently became host to a Ray Ray’s Hog Pit food truck.
- American Nut Company has left the East Market. Their stall in North Market downtown and at the Convention Center remain open.
- SeeSaw in Short North announced that it’ll change this summer to a different concept called Good Night John Boy, a 70s-themed bar and restaurant. The owners of the restaurant also have a John Boy location in Cleveland, with new ones coming soon to Chicago and St. Petersburg, Florida. SeeSaw will remain open as it is until the transition.
- The Delaware Food Truck Depot (50 Potter St.) is under new ownership and is now called Sand Bar Station. The previous operator was Homestead Beer Co.
- Last week Columbus Monthly broke the news that chef Andrew Smith’s Isla, a tasting menu-only restaurant, will head to Merion Village instead of Westgate. Isla will inhabit the old prep kitchen from Bake Me Happy’s former digs (while Jennings Java is moving to the front retail shop).
- A sushi bar featuring dishes served on a conveyor belt, called Kura Revolving Sushi Bar, is set to open early next year at 8833 Lyra Dr. near Polaris.
- Tonight The Daily Bar in Italian Village hosts Euro Disco Exchange, an event with a DJ during which they’ll accept Euros in exchange for drinks and gift cards.
