
There’s always a lot happening in the Columbus restaurant world! Here’s the latest:
- Holy Trinity Brewing shared on their Instagram page that they are closed until further notice. The brewery, located at 155 N. Fifth St. downtown, opened in late 2021.
- Pelino’s Pasta announced this week that it’s expanding with Piazza Pelino, described as an “Authentic Italian Focaccieria and Gelateria.” It’s coming soon to 772 N. High St. in the Short North, former site of Piece of Cake.
- Mikey’s Late Night Slice announced this week that they’ve finished up their run inside Woodland’s Backyard.
- Ethos + Co. Community Café celebrates its grand opening on Saturday, Sept. 30 at 6576 Africa Rd. in Westerville.
- Following the departure of a couple vendors over recent months, East Market announced the addition of Barrel & Boar and Homestead Beer Co. These join coming-soon booths from Buck City Sammies and Urban Gourmet Burgers & Wings.
- The owners of Matt & Tony’s Wood Fired Grill announced they’ve closed their Brewery District location at 525 Short St., citing slow traffic due to nearby construction. Their other location at 340 E. Gay St. remains open.
- A new restaurant organization called Columbus Independents announced its launch this week. Similar to Dine Originals group that preceded it, Columbus Independents advocates on behalf of local restaurants and sells discounted gift certificates to them. Columbus Independents is modeled on the 18-year-old organization Cleveland Independents.
- North Carolina-based Duck Donuts will open its third central Ohio location at 10710 Blacklick-Eastern Rd. in Pickerington this Saturday, Sept. 30. This joins locations on Polaris Parkway in Westerville and in Dublin.
- Multiple sources have reported that a new bar and restaurant called Prim Mason, from the owners of Local Cantina, South Village Grille, and other eateries, is coming to 466 W. State St. in the Gravity development in Franklinton.
- Crumbl Cookies‘ latest central Ohio location holds its grand opening today at 6310 Gender Rd. in Canal Winchester.
- In a press release last week, Middle West Spirits announced that James Tuckey has taken over as the new executive chef of Service Bar.
- The Original Pancake House announced that it’s adding a third central Ohio location, this one at 6330 Dublin Granville Rd. in New Albany. Slated to open early next year, it joins stores in Upper Arlington and Westerville.
- Grandview will soon have two more options for ice cream! Long-time Ohio ice cream maker Toft’s will open Toft’s Grand Scoop at 1288 W. Fifth Ave. sometime in early October, and Johnson’s Real Ice Cream announced this week that it’s adding a fourth store in early 2024 at 1325 Grandview Ave.
- Tickets are now on sale for the next And Friends pop-up, this one featuring chef Carly Sifritt on Oct. 21.
- Nocterra Brewing in Powell celebrates its annual Noctoberfest on Saturday, Sept. 30 starting at 11:30 a.m. The day will include stein holding and racing competitions, live music, cream puff eating contests, food from Ray Ray’s and Trail Magic Kitchen, and much more.
- Wolf’s Ridge Brewing has been celebrating its 10th anniversary all this week, with a big party called Wolfstock this Saturday, Sept. 30 from noon to 10 p.m. The festivities will include live music, food specials in the taproom, special beer releases.
