
There’s a lot happening in the Columbus restaurant world – here’s the latest!
- Hoyo’s Kitchen announced their North Market stall will open for business on Monday, Aug. 12.
- Philco Bar + Diner has been under-going some renovations and announced they should be re-opening soon.
- Fireproof Columbus opens its doors to the public today. The new restaurant is located in the Fireproof warehouse at 1026 N. High St. in Short North.
- Dadu’s Bakery & Sweets has replaced Lebanon Bakery at 8495 Sancus Blvd., serving sweets, cakes, pizzas, and Indian breakfast. (Thanks to Joe at 614orty-Niner for the heads up!)
- Danny’s Deli downtown is changing ownership and renaming itself Delicious Deli
- Hot Chicken Takeover debuted a vegan dish, Not Chicken, made with seitan served as a sandwich or open-faced.
- Valter’s at the Maennerchor will be featured on Man vs Food next week Tuesday, Aug. 13! You can join them for a watch party at the pub.

- 614 Tiki Week continues through this Saturday, Aug. 10, with a variety of specials all week. VASO is donating $1 for every Blue Frozen Mai Tai sold to the Dayton Oregon District Tragedy Fund.
- The Fiery Foods Festival is Saturday, Aug. 10 from 2-10 p.m. at the Columbus Commons.
- The Bourbon Legends Boxcar makes a stop in Columbus this weekend. You can sign up to participate in free tastings and other events.
- Festival Latino takes place on the downtown riverfront this weekend, Aug. 10-11.
- Ajumama hosts their annual Hawaiian plate lunch pop-up this Sunday, Aug. 11 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Global Gallery.
- Taste the Future is next week Tuesday, Aug. 13 at Columbus State.
- Tickets are now on sale for Slow Food Columbus’ annual fundraising dinner, Shake The Hand That Feeds You, held this year at Anderson Farms on Oct. 3.
